Construction Finished and we are moved in!

Hello Everyone,

We officially moved in Dec 27, 2013.  That was our first day.  I apologize for not updating our blog, but it has been a hectic month with the move in and settling down in the new building.  Plus we were short staffed with 1 couple of my staff members off for different reasons.  This week is actually our first week with everyone back and us being full staffed.  We are very happy with the results and have had many compliments from patients and guests on our new office!  Here are the pictures of the office:

Sterilization room is nice and big.  We separated the lab from this room:

We still have a little of work to do, including window shades, new office furniture in my office, upholstery on one of the patient chairs and replace an x-ray unit not working, but we are seeing and treating patients everyday.  I must praise God for blessing us with this new facility and a great staff to make Flushing Family Dentistry the best place to get dental treatment done.  Come visit us soon and see the office for yourself!

This is Dr. Niman Shukairy signing off on this blog.  Thank you and good day!

Final stage - paint walls, ceiling tiles

Hello everyone,

Last 3 weeks have been mailing dry wall finishing and painting the walls.  There hasn't been much work done on the outside so I haven't updated any pictures.  But today I went out and took some updated pictures of the painted walls and the new wall signs on the building.  The main sign by the road is still not up and the exterior lights are not in, but the awnings are in.

I am hoping that we will have the ceiling tiles done and the flooring started next week as well as the cabinetry by next week.  We have a finish date planned for Dec 9.

Here are some updated pictures:

Se as you can see, we still have some work to do inside, even though the outside is about done.  We will have carpet and flooring, ceiling tiles and cabinetry put in the next week or two.  We still have fixtures to install as well.  But we should be able to get everything done by Dec 9, God Willing!  I will update again once the flooring and cabinetry are done. - NKS

Drywalls going up. stonework and parking lot just about done.

Hello everyone,

So we are coming to the home stretch this next week.  Drywall is up and is being finished, parking lot asphalt was just finished yesterday, just needs the lines painted on now, stone work done on the entrance, sign base going up.  Expect to finish in one month!  We are on schedule, even slightly ahead of schedule.  Of course, there is still a lot that needs to be finished up inside with paint, flooring, and cabinetry.  Here are the updated pictures:

The brick is painted and the sign base is being constructed:

Parking lot finished, except for the lines:

Parking lot and sidewalk done:

Sign base still needs some work:

So the goal for next week is to finish up with the drywall and start on the painting.  Ceiling should also be started by next week, we will be placing ceiling tiles.  We also want the exterior to finish up, which includes the sign base and pillar before the weather gets too cold, we are already seeing freezing temperatures.  Hopeufully in one month we will be done! stay tuned. - NKS

Sidewalk and exterior stone, Interior drywall installation

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since the last post.  There hasn't been that much visual changes on a day to day basis so that is why I haven't updated the pictures recently.  Most of the work the past two weeks is related to electrical and plumbing and wiring work.  A lot of that work is involved in the building.  But at this point, the sidewalks have been poured and the base asphalt has been placed.  The cultured stone is going up at the entrance.  In the interior, the drywall is going up and the insulation is done.  We are looking at about 6 weeks to finish hopefully.

Here are the updated pics:

Hopefully within the next week to 10 days, we will finish up with the exterior.  The weather has been great so far, although it's beginning to get cold and wet.  If we can get a few more days of sun, we will be set.  We plan on placing the final asphalt layer this Friday and Saturday, weather permitting.  Will update next week when the exterior gets done God willing. - NKS

Exterior EIFS and wall studs

Hello Everyone,

This past week the exterior EIFS is being finished up.  Still needs to be painted on part of the building but mostly up.  Next week the cultured stone will be placed.  In the interior the wall studs are being put up.  The electrical and low voltage wiring has been started and hopefully next week the drywall will start to go up.  Also, not showing in the pictures, there was a lot of parking lot work done.  The storm drain pipes were placed and a storn drain and man hole was placed.  The storm drains were connected to the current drain in my current building parking lot.  This has caused a big mess in our parking lot.  Hopefully, this will be finished within the next week or two.

Here are updated pics:

SO next week, hopefully, we will have pics with cultured stone in place and some drywall going up.  We are on schedule and hopefully may be done by end of November! - NS

Starting on the Walls and Windows

Hello everyone,

This past week, the concrete floor was poured, the windows were put in, the brick work around the building was placed and they are starting the EIFS installation today.  Also the storm drainage reservoir installation has started.  The drainage has really wrecked havoc on our parking lot as there are piles of stone to be placed over the storm pipes.  A lot of crews are working at the same time, so parking has been limited as well.  We did remove the previous trees stump as well as it will be interfering with the concrete sidewalk.

Here are the updated pics:

Old tree stump grinded down.  We will have a side walk coming through here.

Side windows.  The 5 operatories facing east each have their own window.  The 6th operatory is facing North.

Here you can see where the cultured stone will be placed and where the sign will be at the entrance.

The North East corner of the building.  The brickwork is going up.  The rest of the building will be EIFS.  A sign will also be placed on the north side of the building.

Next week we should have the wall studs up, the ceiling drywall will be up and duct work will be started.  EIFS will be placed and next week the cultured stone work will be done.  We are on schedule and I hope we stay on schedule to finish in December.   I will get more pics to update soon God willing. - NKS

Framing complete - roof complete

Hello Everyone,

Last week the roofing/electrical and plumbing was placed and this week the floor will be poured.  The next two weeks should have a lot done. Once the concrete floor is set, the walls will be put up.  There will be parking lot work and and brick work done this next week as well.  It's amazing how high the building looks because it's one a hill and on high grading.  With the framing done, it's finally taking the shape that it will be when it is finished.

Here are some roof pictures and the finished framing pictures.

The building is finally taking shape.
